India will be missing the services of Jasprit Bumrah for the second Test against England at Edgbaston owing to his workload management. The star pacer, however, is likely to be available for the third Test at the Home of Cricket, Lord's. Likewise, England announced their squad for the Edgbaston Test, which saw the return of Jofra Archer for the first time in over 4 years.
Bumrah got injured in the Sydney Test early in 2025 after getting overcooked in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25. As a result, he was ruled out of the limited-overs series against England and the Champions Trophy 2025. The right-arm pacer also missed 4 matches for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025.

In the first Test, Bumrah bowled 24.4 overs in the first innings and claimed 5/83. In the second innings, the unorthodox bowler bowled 19 overs and conceded 57 runs. Due to his workload management, Bumrah will be rested for the second Test despite the time off. However, he is likely to be back on the side for the Lord's Test.
Jofra Archer returns to England's Test side for the first time in over 4 years
On the other hand, England announced their squad for the second Test against India. Jofra Archer, who has been out of action from Tests since February 2021, is back in the red-ball side. His return will boost England's pace attack, which makes them the favorite to go 2-0 up in the series, especially in the absence of Bumrah from the side.
