Mitchell Johnson wrote a column in The Times after the D/N Test in Brisbane in the Ashes 2025/26. The former Ashes winner spoke about the chances of both teams in the last three matches of the series. While Johnson felt 5-0 in favor of Australia an unlikely outcome, he felt there is a potential to achieve it.

Ahead of the Adelaide Test, Johnson wrote the column and felt the conditions would be different compared to the first two Tests. He felt a lack of carry and bounce for the remainder of the series could help England. The left-arm pacer claimed that the spinners will be in the equation and Australia cannot afford to be complacent.

"Conditions may well be different in Adelaide next week, where you don't generally see the same bounce and carry, which might suit England. We'll see spin come into it more. Australia are obviously in a very strong position but they won't be complacent," Johnson wrote in his column in The Times.

"I don't think it will be 5-0, but clearly the potential is there," - Mitchell Johnson

He remembered the 2013-14 series when Australia hammered England 5-0. However, the 44-year-old felt England could come back in the series despite the psychological damage. Johnson claimed that the return of Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins would benefit the home side.

"This series doesn't have the same feel as 2013-14, when Australia last won 5-0, but with (Pat) Cummins and (Nathan) Lyon coming back, their momentum is strong. But if England get it right, it's not like they can't come back. Perhaps too much psychological damage has already been done. I don't think it will be 5-0, but clearly the potential is there," Johnson added.
