In a recent line of developments, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) signed the veteran Karnataka batter Mayank Agarwal as a replacement for injured Devdutt Padikkal. Notably, Padikkal was ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2025 after sustaining a right hamstring injury.
Padikkal played 10 games for RCB in the ongoing IPL 2025. He scored 247 runs, with a decent batting average and hitting two half-centuries. Now, he will be replaced by Mayank Agarwal for the rest of the season.
Mayank Agarwal has been one of the good ‘performing batters’ in the IPL. He has played 127 games in his IPL, scoring 2661 runs, with a century and 13 half-centuries. He has been signed by RCB for an amount of INR 1 Crore.
RCB aim playoffs with top spot in IPL 2025
Speaking of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s performance in the current season, they are enjoying a brilliant run of form in the tournament. Rajat Patidar’s men are placed in the second spot on the tournament’s points table, with eight wins and only three defeats in their 11 games so far. They are coming off four consecutive wins in their last five games, including a narrow 2-run win against CSK in the last game.
Now, Bengaluru will face LSG in the 59th IPL 2025 game, at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Friday, May 9, at 7:30 PM (IST). In this RCB will aim to beat LSG to move up to the top spot in the points tally, adding two more points and surpassing Gujarat Titans.
