Jasprit Bumrah's rhythm and effort have "blown away" India bowling coach Morne Morkel during the team's three training sessions thus far on their tour of England. Given that Jasprit Bumrah has only participated in a few IPL games, Morkel also denied rumours that he could be undercooked. The Indian team is aware of Bumrah's past back issues.
However, the bowling coach Morne Morkel has supported Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the five-match Test series against England. "Bumrah knows how to get himself ready; he knows how to prepare. I was blown away to see the energy on the ball over the last three days. That's very exciting to see. I'm happy his body is in good shape at the moment," Morkel said, after seeing Bumrah in the first three team practice sessions.
Head coach Gautam Gambhir had stated before the team's departure that, as part of his workload management strategy, Bumrah will probably only play in three of the five Test matches. The team hasn't made a decision yet on which games he will play, though, and it will depend on how the series goes and Bumrah's health. The Indian bowling coach reaffirmed that the team's management will manage Bumrah's workload during the summer in a smart manner.

Morne Morkel wants players to play all ninety overs every day
"With that, we'll handle him. "He's clearly important to us, so we'll be smart with him, but over the first three net sessions, there's a lot to be thrilled about as he bowls with the Dukes ball," Morkel continued. India will play a three-day intra-squad match at Beckenham commencing on June 6 in preparation for the first Test match at Headingley in Leeds, which begins on June 20. A combination of players from the India A team, who just played two four-day matches against the England Lions, and the main Test squad will participate in the game, which will take place behind closed doors.
Although they are frequently cloudy and bowler-friendly, English weather should offer good surfaces for the whole of the series, he noted. "Even if the weather in England is cloudy, you may still enjoy favourable circumstances. I believe that will be put to the test. Before the first Test, Morne Morkel emphasised that one of the main objectives is to make sure that players are physically prepared to play the entire ninety overs every day.
