Indian cricket star KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty have announced the arrival of their first child on Friday. Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty announced the arrival of the child on her Instagram handle. Athiya Shetty wrote, “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon 2025.”
The post has already garnered over 170,000 likes and over 2000 comments. The pair got married in 2023 after years of dating. Rahul is currently in Australia playing with India A in the second unofficial Test against Australia A in Melbourne. The 32-year-old continued his abysmal form with the bat as he was out for just 10 in the second innings.
Rahul was bowled by Corey Rocchiccoli after having played 44 balls for his ten runs. The right-handed batter was out for just four runs in the first innings of the game. This will be a huge headache for the team management with the first Test match set to be played in two weeks.
Aakash Chopra backs Dhruv Jurel to play the Perth Test
Former Indian opening barter Aakash Chopra has put his weight behind Dhruv Jurel to make it to the playing XI for the Perth Test. The 23-year-old scored a fighting 80 in the first innings of the game and was not out on 19 at the close of play of day two.
Chopra said on his YouTube Channel, “One guy saved the honour a little bit. His name is Dhruv Jurel. He scored 80 runs, hit two sixes, played 186 balls and gave a semblance of respectability to the score because India could score 161. It seemed at one stage that they would be all out for 80-85.”
The former Indian star also said, “It means you might see another wicketkeeper playing in the XI after Rishabh Pant because this Indian team is repeatedly telling us that they are not averse to change. It could be Dhruv Jurel batting at No. 6 at Perth on the 22nd.”
Aakash Chopra further added, “You need to think more about KL Rahul because he was only sent to go there and score runs and if you noticed they got him to open. KL Rahul opened because the Indian team have started thinking that if Rohit Sharma doesn't play at Perth, can Rahul be that opener.”
