India Under-19 team's tailenders batted extremely well in the tour match against England Under-19, after the early dismissals of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre. Rahul Kumar, Kanishk Chouhan, and RS Ambrish scored fifties, while Harvansh Pangalia scored an unbeaten hundred. It led to fans criticizing India's tailenders for their lack of contribution in both innings of the Headingley Test.

India U-19 batted first in Loughborough and was reduced to 91/5 in 12.2 overs. Players like Mhatre and Suryavanshi, who rose to fame in the IPL 2025, disappointed by failing to perform. India U-19 was in a spot of bother when Rahul and Kanishk stepped up with a partnership of 140 runs for the 6th wicket. The 8th wicket partnership between Ambrish and Pangalia was the most impressive.

The duo posted 128(64), which totally changed the complexion of the match. Pangalia was the star of the show, who remained unbeaten with a score of 103*(52). Rahul scored 73(60), while Kanishk and Ambrish helped their team with 79(67) and 72(47), respectively. It helped India to post a huge total of 442/9 on the board, after being reduced to 91/5 at one stage.

Fans were quick to praise the efforts of the emerging talents in their match despite not having a lot of experience at a fairly big stage. Many took a dig at the Indian tailenders, who failed to perform in both innings of the Headingley Test against England.

Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Karun Nair, and Mohammed Siraj could not perform well in either innings. Both of India's innings witnessed collapses, which meant the visiting side was potentially 20-30 runs short in both instances.
