Panchal has also been a record holder, posting most centuries by the Gujarat batter, in first-class cricket. Panchal unfortunately did not have a chance to don the jersey of the national team, but his name stands tall with Rajinder Goel, Amol Mazumdar, Mithun Manhas, Padmakar Shivalkar, and other legends of domestic cricket. Panchal had scored 8,856 runs during his career, in which he bagged 34 fifties and 29 centuries to his name. In the year 2016-17, Panchal was the first to guide the Gujarat team to their maiden Ranji Trophy victory. On the other hand, he also helped the team in winning their first Vijay Hazare Trophy a year prior to this.
