Indian cricket star Jasprit Bumrah might miss the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. According to a report carried by Indian Express, the reason behind the move could be due to the huge tour of Australia coming up. According to reports doing the rounds, Jasprit Bumrah will be rested due to workload management.

Jasprit Bumrah didn’t play during the Sri Lankan series as his last appearance for India was during the T20 World Cup. Bumrah played his last Test for India earlier this year against England.

Post the series against Bangladesh, the Indian side will take on New Zealand at home in a three-match series. Then there will be a short tour of South Africa where the men in blue will play four T20I matches. This will be followed by a five-match Test tour of Australia.

Former Indian coach praises Jasprit Bumrah

Paras Mhambrey who was the former Indian bowling coach had words of praise for Jasprit Bumrah. The former Indian star was part of the backroom staff along with Rahul Dravid who won the T20 World Cup.

Speaking to News18 Cricket, Paras Mhambrey said “Skill wise, Bumrah is a freak. As a bowler, you know, just looking at it, it’s a little technical because he needs to run up, he needs to run up, take that momentum through, go through, but if you look at Bumrah right now, pretty much just walks in, doesn’t even run, you know, just the way he releases the ball just walks in four or five steps,"

The former Indian bowling coach also said “Obviously, now his little length and the run-up is, but it doesn’t make a difference. If you ask him to bowl for four steps, also he’ll be as quick as what he’s doing”

Further speaking about Jasprit Bumrah, the former Indian pacer said “"Yeah, he is just born that way and I think It’s obviously a born with skill, but damn he’s worked hard for it man Is he’s gone through the Ranji Trophy by bowling so much, played a lot of first-class cricket. He’s created the base is gone through tough phase. He’s tested his body again and again, and have gone through seasons without injuries. So obviously, he has mastered his skills there and over the period with the experience that he has is just the intelligence to look at the way he bowls”
