Renegades keep their hopes alive in the tournament

Speaking of the entire action of the game, Melbourne Renegades skipper Will Sutherland won the toss and asked Heat to bat first. Bat first, the visitors posted a total of 196 runs for losing 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Their innings consisted of some brilliant 40+ knocks, both in the top and the middle order.

Jack Wood and Matt Renshaw scored 45 and 40 runs off just 27 and 22 balls, respectively followed by wicketkeeper-batter Tom Alsop’s quick 42 runs off just 26 balls, with a four and three sixes. Adam Zampa and Callum Stow scalped 2 wickets each for their side in the first innings.

While chasing the target, most of the part of the Rengades’ run-chase revolved around the young batting sensation Jake Fraser-McGurk. Besides his 95-run knock, opener Josh Brown also scored quick 32 runs off just 11 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes.

These blistering knocks helped the Renegades to chase down the target in 18 overs and win the game by 3 wickets. With this win, Will Sutherland’s men have moved to the fourth spot, with an addition of two points.
