The Thunder’s skipper David Warner and wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings were there in the middle for their side and the score was 87 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Then came the second ball of the 13th over bowled by Kane Richardson.

Richardson bowled a low full toss on the stumps which made Sam Billings open his stance and execute a powerful shot towards mid-on. Initially, the shot looked quite enough to clear the boundary ropes but everyone in the Sydney Showground Stadium was left stunned when the Renegades’ skipper Will Sutherland made a heroic entry into the scene.

He took an unbelievable flight to his right, flinging out his right mitt keeping the shoulder beneath it, and executed probably the ‘catch of the tournament’ to dismiss Sam Billings.
