MS Dhoni

Former legendary India skipper MS Dhoni's future in the Indian Premier League is still up in the air. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO, Kasi Viswanathan recently spoke to Times of India and said the ball was in Dhoni’s court. Mr. Viswanathan has left it upon the CSK legend to take a call over his future.

Speaking to Times of India, Mr. Viswanathan said “We are not sure at this stage. We might not even use it for MS Dhoni. It is still too early to comment on this because we haven’t had any discussion with him”

“Dhoni was in the US and we haven’t had discussions with him yet. Now I am travelling this week so there is a possibility of some discussions in the coming week. So there could be some clarity then. We are hopeful of him playing but that is a call that Dhoni will himself take” said Mr. Kasi Viswanathan.

Ajay Jadeja names his perfect retentions for CSK

Former India batter Ajay Jadeja was speaking to Colors Cineplex when he named his 4 players to be retained by CSK. The former Indian star named MS Dhoni along with skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Ajay Jadeja said “One is MS Dhoni for sure. There is no doubt about that because firstly he has become an uncapped player now and he has shown for so many years that he doesn't desire to be No. 1 or No. 2 to make the team. So there is no doubt at that value,"

The former Indian star also added “Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad had a good year, so you will want to keep him as well. You cannot leave Ravindra, I am not talking about Rachin, I am talking about Jadeja. I feel these three are perfect for them,"

One of the other key names mentioned was that of Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana. The right-arm seamer has been a huge player for CSK ever since his debut and has been one of their leading wicket takers.

“So if a team wants to change their style, the fewer you retain, it's better. So these three according to me will be retained for sure. You would not want to leave Pathirana. I am seeing him as one among the overseas players. You need to keep players not because of the money, but their style. So I feel these four will be their main players and they will keep two RTMs," said Ajay Jadeja.
