Indian cricket fans came out in droves to troll KL Rahul on social media. The 32-year-old was seemingly getting ready to come out to bat just ahead of lunch. This hilarious moment happened when Rishabh Pant went for a huge hit. India’s wicketkeeper and batter didn’t get the timing right as the ball was in the air for a long time.

Najmul Shanto the Bangladeshi skipper was under the ball trying to take the catch. Rishabh Pant saw Shanto drop the catch much to the delight of the crowd in Chennai. KL Rahul meanwhile, was seen padding up and picking his gloves to come out and bat.

At the lunch interval, team India was placed at 205/3 with an overall lead of 432 runs. Rishabh Pant was batting on 82 while Shubman Gill was batting on 86. The focus will not only be on both batter's tons but also the inevitable declaration.

Former India star slams KL Rahul over his form

Making his return to Test cricket, Rahul failed to get going in the 1st dig where he scored 16 runs. Former Indian star Sanjay Manjrekar was critical about the numbers put by the Indian star in Test cricket.

During his chat with ESPNCRICINFO, Manjrekar said “This has been the Rahul story. Amazingly, he plays a brilliant inning at the Test level and in the next two or three innings it seems like he has got a pair in the last Test. Even when you saw him bat today, it almost seemed like an innings without purpose. That can happen, it happened to me in the second half of my career where everything was internal”

The former Indian batter also said “I went in to bat just thinking about my technique and am I going to play the ball well, imagining a certain kind of delivery coming my way. And I've got to play instead of going to your instinct as a batter which I think all the other Indian batters practice that is about getting runs. Even if you're defending looking for ones and twos”

“That is more a temperamental problem for KL Rahul that has plagued him for 50 Test matches because of the number that he has. He's got some brilliant hundreds but an average of 34. He's got hundreds, not one or two, quite a few and in testing conditions but the average of 34 tells you about his temperament and that we got to look at it today as well," Sanjay Manjrekar opined while speaking to ESPN CRICINFO.
