Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill

Gujarat Titans began their Indian Premier League (IPL) journey in 2022. In their very first season, they stormed to the podium as they won the title. Ashish Nehra as the coach and Hardik Pandya as the captain was seemingly an unbeatable partnership. The duo nearly pulled off a terrific title defence as they reached the finals in 2023.

Hardik Pandya’s move to Mumbai ahead of IPL 2024 put a huge spanner in the works for Gujarat Titans. Shubman Gill was named the captain of the side which had a patchy tournament. The Titans were all out for less than 100 during a game against Delhi Capitals to record their lowest IPL total.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 season, there will be lots on the plate for Gujarat Titans to ponder. Shubman Gill and the team think tank will sit across the table to discuss which player to retain and whom to part ways with. Veteran stars like Wriddhiman Saha and Mohit Sharma could be culled while a few fringe stars await their fate with bated breath.
