IPL 2025: KL Rahul and Abishek Porel propel DC to comfortable 8-wicket win against LSG

Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets in the 40th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The game was played at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The visiting skipper Axar Patel won the toss and asked the Lucknow Super Giants to bat first.

While batting first, the hosts managed to post a total of 159 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The veteran opener Aiden Markram played a brilliant 52-run knock of 52 runs off 33 balls, with two fours and three sixes, alongside his opening mate Mitchell Marsh’s 45 runs off 36 balls, with three fours and a six.

Furthermore, the young middle-order batter Ayush Badoni also contributed with a blistering 36 runs off just 21 balls, with six fours. These knocks somehow helped LSG to post 159 runs in the first innings, losing 6 wickets. 
Star pacer Mukesh Kumar scalped 4 wickets at 33 runs in his four overs for DC in the first innings, alongside a wicket each bagged by skipper Axar Patel and veteran pacer Mitchell Starc.

Abishek Porel-KL Rahul duo outmuscles LSG bowling attack

While chasing the target, DC scored 161 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets in only 17.3 overs and won the game by a big margin of 8 wickets. Young opener Abishek Porel played a match-winning half-century knock of 51 runs off 36 balls, with five fours and a six. Following him, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul also played an unbeaten knock of 57 runs off 42 balls, with three fours and three sixes, alongside skipper Axar Patel, who went unbeaten, scoring 34 runs off just 20 balls, with one four and four sixes.
