Batting first, the hosts got a strong opening start of 114 runs in just 12.2 overs by the opening pair of the orange cap holder Sai Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill. Sudharsan scored 52 runs off just 36 balls, with six fours and a six, followed by Gill’s captaincy knock of 90 runs off just 55 balls, with 10 fours and three sixes.

On the back of these contributions, the Titans managed to post 198 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, and Vaibhav Aroraa bagged a wicket each for KKR in the first innings as they also went too expensive with the ball.

While chasing the target, the KKR batting attack crumbled against the visitors' bowling lineup, which included a mix of spin and pace. Except for skipper Ajinkya Rahane’s 50 runs off 36 balls, with five fours and a six, only Andre Russell and Angkrish Raghuvanshi could cross the individual mark of 20+ runs, scoring 21 and 27 runs, respectively.

Eventually, the GT bowlers restricted KKR to a score of 159 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the entire 20 overs and won the game by 39 runs. Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan picked 2 wickets each at just 25 runs each in their respective four-over spells.

Apart from these two, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Washington Sundar, and Sai Kishore claimed a wicket each for their side in the second innings. With this win against KKR, Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans have now added 2 more points to their name, and they are firmly placed at the top of the tournament standings.
