The Delhi Capitals (DC) have released their retention list for the upcoming IPL 2025. They have stunned the fans by releasing Rishabh Pant from the squad. While several reports suggested the same, it was mostly an unbelievable step. Delhi Capitals (DC) is another team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) who haven't won a single trophy yet.

In 17 years, DC have only qualified for the IPL finals once, which doesn't justify the kind of players they have had in the past. The likes of Virender Sehwag and Rishabh Pant have been a part of the squad. Even after having some quality players, DC have never won a single trophy, which is upsetting.

In 2020, they qualified for the finals for the first time in the history of the tournament but failed to win it against the mighty Mumbai Indians. The main reason behind this is the lack of experienced players in the squad. The management have always had a tough time picking out players who can perform well in crunch situations. Even under Rishabh Pant's captaincy, the team couldn't do much.

Delhi entered the auction with INR 76.25 crore after retaining Axar Patel (INR 16.5 crore), Kuldeep Yadav (INR 13.25 crore), Tristan Stubbs (INR 10 crore), and Abhishek Porel (INR 4 crore) at a combined purse of INR 43.75 crore.  Pant, who joined Delhi for the 2016 season, has earned the most caps for the team in the competition's history.

Rishabh Pant will be available in the mega auction!

Prior to the Indian Premier League mega-auction, the Delhi Capitals released its top batsman and wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant. Pant's nine-year tenure with the team ended on Thursday, October 31. He is regarded as one of the best commodities in Indian cricket. After a protracted injury layoff, Rishabh Pant had only returned the previous season. As a result, DC chose to let go of their captain, who will be auctioned off with Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul, two more prominent Indian celebrities.
