The league stages of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 are over and now it's time for the playoffs. The four teams which have qualified for the knockouts are Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). After playing 70 matches straight, the league has finally got its four teams to make the playoffs even more interesting.
While all the other teams had a fair season, RCB has emerged to be one of the best teams in the tournament. After losing six straight matches, the Men in Red's redemption towards the 2nd stage of the IPL was one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the league. The Royals won six back-to-back matches to qualify for the playoffs, defeating the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last encounter.
As per the stats, RCB hasn't lost a single match in the month of May while RR hasn't won a single match in the month of May. Hence, both teams are set to play the eliminator scheduled on May 22, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Looking at RCB's confidence and performance in the last six games, it's pretty evident that RR has to play their best cricket to defeat this powerful side. On May 22, we'll get to know which of the Royals will play the Qualifier 2.
Here’s a look at RCB's records in the playoff stage in IPL History
While RCB is one of the strongest teams in the history of the IPL, they haven't won a single trophy yet. The only thing which stops the team from being included in the successful team's list is the trophy, or else, they have played some of the greatest knocks in history which every cricket lover still remembers.
It's not like RCB hasn't played any finals yet. They have played in three IPL finals and lost all of them which was indeed one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the game's history considering the kind of players they had.
