RCB star bowler Yash Dayal has played a crucial role in guiding the team into the playoffs. Notably, the Faf du Plessis side defeated defending champions the Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs on May 18 at M. Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore thanks to Yash Dayal's last over.

However, the Uttar Pradesh-born star made his IPL debut last year for the Gujarat Titans and ended up having a horror run when KKR star batter Rinku Singh hammered him five straight sixes in the last five balls to help his side win the game over GT. For the same reason, GT had released him ahead of the auction. In addition, the star cricketer became the subject of memes when he was picked up by RCB for Rs 5 crore ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.

Meanwhile, Yash Dayal's father, Chandarpal, has recently opened up about the taunts and trolling he has faced after Rinku Singh hammered him five sixes in the IPL 2023. Notably, the internet was full of memes as people were claiming that RCB had wasted their money on Yash Dayal, but he proved all the critics wrong with his match-winning performance against five-time winners CSK.

I remember someone saying ‘Paise naale mei baha aaye Bangalore waale: Yash Dayal's father

“In one of the WhatsApp groups, a person I know shared a meme, mocking Yash for conceding five sixes and I still remember what he wrote with the picture ‘Prayagraj Express ki kahaani shuru hone se pehle hi khatam ho gayi,” he said.

“It never stopped, we as a family literally quit all WhatsApp groups, barring our family one. Even when RCB picked him in the auction for Rs 5 crore, I remember someone saying ‘Paise naale mei baha aaye Bangalore waale. We live in a world where even if you switch off from social media, you will end up seeing all kinds of stuff. Everyone wrote him off. And today, I am receiving a number of congratulatory calls and messages. Still, no one is talking about his hard work, grind and the way he tackled the pressure,” he added.
