Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were stunned by Mumbai Indians (MI) in front of a crazy Wankhede Stadium Crowd on Monday as Suryakumar Yadav scored his second IPL century to help Mumbai Indians win the game with nearly 2 overs left to play in the game.

The IPL 2016 winners were dealt a massive blow as the playoff race for the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL)season was thrown open again. The home team Mumbai Indians with its own brand of aggressive batting and clinical performance with the ball. 

Pat Cummins endured a frustrating day in the field as the captain as nothing went to plan for him. This is despite SRH picking three early wickets to leave Mumbai in deep trouble once again with the bat while chasing 174 to win.

5. Nuwan Thushara – 0/42 from four overs

IPL 2024 hasn’t been a great tournament for Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Thushara. The 29-year-old failed to pick up a wicket and was very expensive as he gave away 42 runs with the ball and also bowled a fair few extras for the teams’ liking. 

4. Rohit Sharma – 4 runs from 5 balls

Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma failed to score with the bat once again as could score only 4 runs. The 37-year-old tried to play a flick shot but only succeeded in giving Heinrich Klaasen an easy catch to give Pat Cummins his first wicket of the night. 

3. Ishan Kishan – 9 runs from 7 balls

One of the biggest problems that Mumbai Indians have faced in this tournament has been their opening pair. Apart from a few decent contributions the pair of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have struggled to score. The 25-year-old who was displaying aggressive intent was out for 9 when caught by Mayank Agarwal in the slips off Marco Jansen. 

2. Heinrich Klassen – 2 runs from 4 balls

Sunrisers Hyderabad will worried with the form of Heinrich Klaasen with yet another failure with the bat. The 31-year-old who was at one point one of the top scorers in the league was bowled by Piyush Chawla to leave the hosts reeling at 96/5 in the 13th over. 

1. Marco Jansen – 1/45 from 3 overs

Despite picking up an early wicket of Ishan Kishan the tall South African bowler came in for heavy punishment from the MI batters. Marco Jansen conceded 45 runs from his 3 overs and could only score 17 runs from 12 balls with the bat for his side. The former Mumbai Indians star didn’t have a great return to his former home ground as his team lost the game quite easily.
