Mumbai Indians rode on a timely ton from Suryakumar Yadav to win their 4th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. The veteran batter scored 102 runs from just 51 balls to help Mumbai Indians win the game by 7 wickets inside 18 overs. 

At one stage Mumbai Indians were struggling at 31/3 as Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Pat Cummins made the ball talk. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav though made sure they took the team home for a key win.

5. Jasprit Bumrah -1/23 from 4 overs

Just like the last match against KKR, it was Jasprit Bumrah who was the best bowler for the Mumbai Indians team. The 30-year-old bowled four overs gave away just 23 runs and picked the wicket of Abhishek Sharma to give MI the early advantage. 

4. Piyush Chawla – 3/33 from 4 overs

Veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla had the SRH batters tied in his web of spin as he turned back the clock to pull off a great spell. His first wicket of the day was Travis Head who was looking good on 48. The next to go was Heinrich Klassen who was beaten for pace and bowled for 2 and the final wicket of the day Abdul Samad out LBW for 3. 

3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 1/22 from four overs

Veteran Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was at his best with the ball as he bowled three overs upfront. The 34-year-old also got the wicket of Naman Dhir caught by Marco Jansen in the slips to send the MI batting into jitters. His spell off four overs also included a maiden over to show his master with the ball. 

2. Pat Cummins – 35* from 17 balls and 1/35  from four overs

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins flexed his arms and played a crucial knock to help his side past 173. The 30-year-old hit two fours and two sixes and added 37 runs for the 9th wicket along with Sanvir Singh.

Indian cricket fans will be delighted with the form of Suryakumar Yadav and the way he played on Monday. Despite suffering discomfort while batting the 33-year-old didn’t let it deter him as he was the top scorer with the bat from both sides. The veteran Indian batter also combined well with Tilak Varma to add a century stand for the home team. Suryakumar Yadav then added the icing to the cake as he scored his 2nd IPL ton with a six to win the match.
