Sanju Samson and his Rajasthan Royals side stumbled to their second loss in as many games with their latest reversal coming against Delhi Capitals. The 56th game of the Indian Premier League 2024 season saw yet another high-scoring contest as both sides crossed 200.

Rajasthan Royals lost both their opening batters early before Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag tried to steady the ship. Astute captaincy from Rishabh Pant meant that the Capitals maintained a vice-like grip over the Royals batters and posted their 6th win of the season to move to 12 points.

Here is the top 5 worst performances from the game

5. Avesh Khan – 0/42 from two overs

Jake Fraser-McGurk went after Avesh Khan and hit him for 28 runs from his first over of the game. The assault from the young Aussie batter saw Khan being belted for four exquisite boundaries and two sixes. The 27-year-old bowled one more over which traveled for 14 runs before he was taken off the attack.

4. Sandeep Sharma – 1/42 from 4 overs

The veteran pacer who has been one of the best Royals pacer this season had a day to forget on Tuesday. The 31-year-old picked up the wicket of Tristan Stubbs just after he was smashed for 2 sixes off 2 balls and ended up conceding 42 runs from his 4 overs. This was one of the most expensive spells bowled by Sandeep Sharma in this season of the IPL.

3. Ishant Sharma – 0/34 from 3 overs

306

Making his return to the side, veteran star Ishant Sharma had to endure one of his worst days on the park during the current season of IPL 2024. The 35-year-old went for 34 runs and bowled just three overs as his night ended rather early.

2. Yashasvi Jaiswal – 4 runs from 2 balls

307

Young Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal hit the first ball of the chase for a four. The left-handed batter tried to repeat his aggressive show but only mistimed a ball from Khaleel Ahmed as Axar Patel settled under the ball and took an easy catch. It was a huge blow for the Royals as Jaiswal was one of the batters they were looking to put big runs on the board.

1. Trent Boult – 1/48 from 4 overs

308

New Zealand seamer Trent Boult began the day well as he bowled a tight first over. His next three overs though saw the Delhi Capitals batters take full toll and score runs against Boult as he was hit for 48 runs from his 4 overs.  His only wicket of the day was that of Gulbadin Naib for 19 off 15 balls.
