India vs England: Weather report for the second T20I at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

The Suryakumar Yadav-led team will try to grab a 2-0 lead in the five-match series when they play against England in the second Twenty20 International on Saturday, January 25, at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium. India won their first Twenty20 International by a resounding seven wickets. In the series opener, many were surprised when India did not include Mohammed Shami in the playing XI. But, as the selection committee wants to evaluate the top pacer's condition prior to the Champions Trophy, it is doubtful that the 34-year-old will be forced to sit on the bench for long.

In Chennai, the team may field two specialist pacers in place of Ravi Bishnoi, as Arshdeep was the only fast bowler in Kolkata, sharing the new ball with Hardik Pandya. Washington Sundar might replace Nitish Kumar Reddy in the lineup, though, as the Chepauk surface is known to aid in spinning traditional knowledge.

However, since the tracks in the early IPL have been batting-friendly, it is impossible to rule out a batting beauty on the new pitch. While the temperature in Cheanni are expected to be around 22°C in the evening, dew will likely play a significant role. Under such circumstances, teams winning the toss are expected to favor chasing the target.
