Hardik Pandya trapped the young England batter Jacob Bethell in the deep midwicket region to get him dismissed in the hands of Abhishek Sharma in the first T20I. Following Abhishek Sharma’s successful execution of the catch, the star India all-rounder also gave an angry stare to the young England lad. Bethell could score only 7 runs off 14 balls, with a dismal strike rate of 50.00, without hitting a boundary.
The ‘raw emotions’ of Hardik Pandya were also captured in the visuals on air; the video of this moment also went viral on social media as soon as it was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter). Notably, England are currently struggling against India in the T20I series opener at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Speaking of the action of the game in the ongoing first T20I of the three-match series between India and England, the tourists were asked to bat first by toss-winning Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav. Batting first, all the English batters have been seen struggling against the Indian bowling attack except for a ‘struggled’ effort from skipper Jos Buttler.
Buttler scored a crucial 68 runs off 44 balls, with eight fours and two sixes to keep things going for England amidst a downfall and losing wickets at quick intervals. Besides Buttler, it is only Harry Brook who has crossed the double-digit mark, scoring 17 runs. At the time of filling this, England had scored 120 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 18.4 overs.
Star spinner Varun Chakravarthy bowled a sensational spell, scalping 3 wickets at just 23 runs in his 4 overs. Besides him, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel have also scalped 2 wickets each, alongside a wicket bagged by Hardik Pandya. Ravi Bishnoi also bowled a brilliant and economical spell, conceding only 22 runs in his four-over stint.
