India and England played each other in the fourth T20I of the ongoing five-match series at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Saturday. The visiting skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and asked the men in blue to bat first. Batting first, India got some big blows only in the second over of the first innings when Saqib Mahmood bowled a sensational three-wicket maiden over to leave the hosts struggling after losing 3 wickets at just 12 runs.

However, the middle-order batter Rinku Singh and all-rounders, Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya managed to rescue India from this miserable position. Rinku scored crucial 30 runs off 26 balls, with 4 fours and a six.

Besides him, Shivam Dube and Hardik Pandya scored crucial half-centuries, scoring 53 runs each off 34 and 30 balls. Dube smashed seven fours and two sixes, while Pandya managed to hit 4 fours and four sixes.
On the back of these knocks, India managed to post a decent total of 181 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, England got a comfortable start of 62 runs for the first wicket, provided by the opening pair of Phil Salt and Ben Duckett before the latter fell prey to Ravi Bishnoi at the individual score of 39 runs off 19 balls, with seven fours and a six. Just after Ben Duckett’s fall, England lost their next two wickets in quick succession and the score was now 67 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 7.3 overs.

Later in England’s run-chase, the number four batter Harry Brook smashed a fiery half-century, scoring 51 runs off just 26 balls, with five fours and two sixes. But he didn’t get enough support from his fellow teammates and England were eventually bundled out at the score of 166 runs in 19.4 overs.

Eventually, India won the penultimate fixture of the five-match T20I series against England by a margin of 15 runs to take a winning lead of 3-1 in the series.
