Ravindra Jadeja takes 300 Test wickets

India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja etched his name into cricketing history on Monday. The 35-year-old took a return catch of Khaled Ahmed for zero to notch up his 300th Test wicket. This made Jadeja the first Indian left-arm spinner to reach the mark. The previous record was held by Bishan Singh Bedi who had 266 wickets from 67 games.

This also made Jadeja the 11th player ever to score 3000 Test runs and take 300 Test wickets. R. Ashwin and Kapil Dev are the other Indian players on this list. The other names include former Australian legend Shane Warne and former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan.

Mominul Haque scored his 13th Test century as he stayed not out on 107. Bangladesh were bowled out for 233 in their first innings after two and half days were washed out due to rain. Play finally began on 4th day as the sun came out in all its glory.

Jasprit Bumrah runs riot after lunch to bowl out Bangladesh

It was a memorable day in the park for India with the ball in hand as Jasprit Bumrah was leading the charge. The 30-year-old started the day with the wicket of Mushfiqur Rahim for 11 in the early part of the day.

Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Siraj then took two outstanding catches to get rid of Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan. Both the batters were out trying to give the charge as the Indian fielding came to the fore.

Virat Kohli failed to hold onto a sharp chance as he dropped Mominul Haque on 95. The former Bangladeshi skipper didn’t let the chance go as he swept Ashwin for a four to reach his 100. It was a huge moment for the left-handed batter who wasn’t in the best form of his life.

Bangladesh went into lunch six wickets down and once they came back, they lost Mehidy Hasan Miraz for 20. Shubman Gill took a sharp catch in the slips to give Bumrah his 2nd wicket. Taijul Islam saw his off stump take a beating as Bumrah dismissed him for 5 to grab his third wicket. Mohammed Siraj then got Khaled Ahmed out for 1 before Jadeja wrapped up the innings.
