Indian cricket star Yashasvi Jaiswal was involved in a funny banter with Australian pacer Mitchell Starc. The incident in question happened during the second day of the first Test match in Perth. Jaiswal had played a pick up shot against Starc that went for four runs. This didn’t sit down well with the left-arm pacer who was seemingly angry.

The next ball saw Jaiswal defend the ball as Starc said something to the Indian batter. Not one to keep quiet, Jaiswal replied, “It’s coming too slow”. The young batter had frustrated the Australian bowlers by grinding out the attack before the Tea break.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by Mitchell Starc in the first innings for a duck. The left-handed batter has been India’s best player in the Test format with over 1100 runs so far this year. This is the first time Jaiswal is touring Australia and has been called as the next big thing by many of the Australian newspapers.

Commentators heap praise on Yashasvi Jaiswal’s batting

During the course of his battle, Jaiswal’s battle with Starc, Australian commentator Kerry O Keefe was taken away by the Indian batter’s talents. O Keefe said, “The cheat sheets would have said don’t get too straight to this young bloke or you will go the distance, This is a terrific cricket shot. Starc got a little too straight and he is one of the best whippers in world cricket. Fantastic cricket from Jaiswal.”

Former England skipper Michael Vaughan said, “He is just working with the angle and it’s beautiful pick-up, It’s a big boundary out there, one bounce four. This could turn into a bit of chin music. I’ve seen Mitchell Starc bowl some explosive spells bowling the short stuff. But they need to change something up.”

Earlier in the day Starc was involved in a funny banter with his former KKR teammate Harshit Rana while batting. The right-arm pacer was heard saying ‘I am faster than you’ to Starc. The Australian pacer responded with “I have a long memory” as the two players had smiles on their faces after the exchange.
