MI vs SRH: Trent Boult batting in nets Photograph: (X)
Mumbai Indians (MI) are set to host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a key encounter in the Indian Premier League (IPL) game on Thursday. Both sides have four points each from their six games and are coming into the encounter with wins to rejuvenate their season. Veteran Kiwi seamer Trent Boult was seen batting in the nets ahead of the game against SRH and decided to entertain a few of his teammates.

The official X handle of Mumbai Indians posted a short video where Boult was enjoying his stint with the bat in hand. The 35-year-old was seen copying Australian batting star Steve Smith's extravagant way of playing the ball. Boult also hit a few lusty blows. After one shot that went over the top straight down the ground, the Kiwi seamer could be heard saying, “Wow, that’s like Dhoni."
In the same video, MI’s seamer could be heard yelling “No run” just like Smith is known to. When a yorker was bowled at his feet, Boult remarked, “Watch my feet,” in jest so as to not injure himself. The left-arm seamer will be keen to test himself out against SRH’s Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head with the new balls and dismiss the dangerous duo.
Hardik Pandya opts to field first
It was Mumbai Indians who won the toss and chose to bowl first in front of their home fans. Both sides went in with the same team from their respective previous matches. Rohit Sharma is expected to come to bat as the impact player with veteran spinner Karn Sharma expected to start.
Many fans will be hoping for Rohit to come up with a big score after failing to get past 20 runs so far this season. For SRH, Ishan Kishan will play a key role considering the 26-year-old spent seven seasons in MI before being released at the end of last season. Mohammed Shami is another player who will be under pressure after being smashed for 75 runs from his four overs in the last game.
Speaking at the toss, Hardik Pandya said, “I think it is a lot to do with the dew. Last night there was dew and always at the Wankhede it is better to bat second. Same side. Everyone knew we had to give it all and that made us close.”
