Australia's right-hand batter, Steven Smith, has once again shown his interest in playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was a regular player in the tournament but went unsold the last time, which was a bit disappointing. However, now he has shown his clear interest in the tournament and even said that he would put down his name for the auction. He missed the IPL for two years but now is set to make a comeback.

"I'd love to be part of the IPL once again. I'll be putting my name in the auction," he said to CODE Sports.

Steven Smith has been a part of a lot of franchises, including Pune Warrior India and Rajasthan Royals. He was also the captain of the RR team for a brief period. However, once he was out of form, none of the owners even tried to consider him in their teams which was a total loss for them. His journey started in 2012 and last he played for the Delhi Capitals.

So I'm going to say 3-1 to Australia: Ricky Ponting

Meanwhile, for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, Australia's former batter Ricky Ponting has given his prediction which is in favour of Australia. As per the former player, Australia have an upper hand over the Indian team, and hence, they can beat India by 3-1.

"I don't know if there'd be too many drawn games. I'm obviously going to tip Australia to win and I'm never going to tip against Australia. There will be a draw somewhere and there will be some bad weather somewhere, so I'm going to say 3-1 to Australia," said Ricky Ponting.
