The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is down the corner and most of the teams are up with their 15-member squads. Similarly, India has revealed their squad for the marquee event and will be travelling to the US and the West Indies before their warm-up game scheduled against Bangladesh. While the squad looks perfect, building a playing XI out of them might be a tough job for the management considering the form of all the players.

Moreover, India's former all-rounder and current ambassador of the ICC T20 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh made his own playing XI which looks quite impressive. Seems like Yuvraj has finally settled the debate over Virat Kohli's batting position. As per the former legendary all-rounder, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma should open the batting while Kohli should play at his original position.

He is up for Rishabh Pant over Sanju Samson to maintain the left-right combination in the team. Amongst bowlers, Yuvraj went with Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. All the players chosen by him are in astounding form and will make the most out of the opportunities given to them.

Yuvraj's squad:  Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj.

'Just not the IPL form' - Yuvraj Singh talks about the criticism revolving around Hardik Pandya's selection

While the entire discussion on Hardik Pandya's selection in the India team as a vice-captain has been trending, Yuvraj Singh took a stand for the all-rounder. Yuvraj talked about how only one season of IPL performance doesn't matter when it comes to the selection of India. The selectors keep an eye on the player's contribution to the team in the past as well and hence, they consider a player in the team. Hardik has been a constant performer for India in the past and hence, his selection was given.

"Well, the good thing is that the selection has been made. (Selectors see) how players have performed in international cricket and then they look at IPL form. Just not the IPL form. Because if you look at the IPL form, Hardik’s not done well. Looking at his background for India, what he’s done for India, it is important that he’s in the squad. I think his bowling is going to be important, and his fitness is going to be important. And I think he might do something really special in this World Cup,” said Yuvraj Singh.
