Shami, in his reply to the former India batter, said, "The most difficult thing is challenging oneself. When you are in such a situation, I was at the NCA and my weight was 90 kg. The best part is that I don't crave tasty food; I don't have sweets. I stay away from a lot of things that one should not have. As far as biryani is concerned, sometimes a cheat meal toh chalta hai. To mera yeh chalta hai toh kya dikkat hai. Since 2015, I have only had one meal per day. I only do dinner, no breakfast or lunch. It is very difficult but once you get used to it, then it's easy."
Mohammad Shami makes tremendous return in ICC tournament
Veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami made a huge return to cricket after being sidelined for 14 months away from the game. The 34-year-old was the best bowler in the 2023 ODI World Cup, where he picked 24 wickets. Shami didn’t play cricket after his appearance in the finals of the same tournament against Australia.
Speaking at the end of the game, Shami said that his fifer was dedicated to his father, “That celebration was for my father; he is my role model. Regarding the captain and coach, their support is crucial. I keep working and practicing, and as for the end result, I leave it up to the almighty.”
The star pacer also said, “I focus on my role and responsibilities and aim to complete it to the fullest. I keep working on that and when everyone mentioned the ICC accolades, I didn't know most of them." Shami will have a huge role to play with the ball when India takes on Pakistan in the biggest match of the tournament on Sunday.
