After series of failure many questions were raised on his form and talks of retirement also started to surface. In first ODI game against England Rohit Sharma went without scoring run as his struggled continued. He silenced his hatters by scoring century in 2nd ODI game. Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, this century will help him to boost his confidence.

During the post-match interview, Rohit Sharma opened up about what things were going in his head during his struggling days. "Every time I walk out to play the game, I just want to try & do well. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it may not happen. As long as I am clear about what I want to do, that's all that matters." When people have played for a number of years and scored so many runs - I have played this game for a long time, I understand what is required of me so it's going out there and doing things - what I did today was one of my things,” he said.

Rohit Sharma changed his batting approach

In recent times, Rohit Sharma has changed his batting mindset. He has maintained an selfless and hard-hitting batting which helped him to get quick runs as the bowler faced problems to set the line. During the ICC World Cup 2023, his batting style gave a headache to bowlers to maintain line and length. India had a good run until the finals. Australia won the trophy as Travis Head smashed a century which helped Australia win their sixth ICC ODI World Cup.

With the ICC Champions Trophy back after 8 years, Rohit's form has returned as India aims to win the Champions Trophy again. India won ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and Rohit was part of that winning team.  The last time ICC Champions Trophy was played in 2017 in England saw India losing the trophy to arch-rivals Pakistan. This time the tournament will take place in UAE and Pakistan as India will play all games in UAE. The final ICC Champions Trophy will be in UAE if India gets qualified for it.
