'I have played all the formats in my career' - Rohit Sharma smartly handles the format-switch question on playing Ranji Trophy and Champions Trophy

Rohit Sharma was asked about the sudden format switch as he will playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy before moving ahead with Team India for the Champions Trophy.

During the press conference on the announcement of the Indian squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma faced some interesting questions from the journalists. Rohit replied with his well-known attitude in the press conferences and successfully confronted all the questions asked by the journalists.

In the same line of events, the Indian skipper was asked about the sudden format switch as he will playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy before moving ahead with Team India for the Champions Trophy. Both the assignments will be different formats for Rohit to play and acclimatize with the different situations and different demands of both formats.

The 37-year-old smartly handled this question and gave a reference to his mammoth experience of playing across different platforms throughout his entire cricketing career. He also expressed that the switching of the format will not be a big concern for him as a professional.

“I have played all the formats in my career, so I am used to switching between the red ball & the white ball,” said Rohit Sharma to the journalist during the press conference.

Notably, Rohit Sharma was one of the vital cogs in the wheel for Team India when they won the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, 12 years ago. The then-skipper MS Dhoni promoted Rohit Sharma to opening in the same tournament and the latter’s crucial opening partnerships with Shikhar Dhawan played a decisive role in India’s title triumph in England.

Now, the veteran batter will be playing for India in the roles of both the batter and the skipper, which will be quite important for him to prove himself on the big stage. He will be eyeing repeating some heroics that he displayed 12 years back in England during the Champions Trophy 2013. The Indian stalwart has been one of the most successful batters in the history of the Champions Trophy.
