'I have never seen a captain like him' - India's pacer heaps praises on Rohit Sharma for his captaincy skills after 1st Test against Bangladesh

The young guns of the Indian cricket team look up to Rohit Sharma as an inspiration. Although we have seen him going after the boys on the field, he is nothing less than their big brother off the field. Akash Deep, India's fast bowler revealed that Rohit is the best captain for him for many reasons. He praised him for constantly supporting the players in times of need and helping the young lads in the team. 

"I always say it is a matter of good fortune and luck to play under Rohit bhaiya. I consider myself lucky to play under him. He is a different kind of captain; I have never seen a captain like him. He is the best captain I have played under. He is just a cool and calm person. He keeps things so simple and easy for every player, not just for me," said Akash Deep as quoted by TOI.

The transition from Virat Kohli's captaincy to Rohit Sharma's captaincy has been quite smooth since all the players knew and respected them. Plus, Rohit had proper experience in captaincy since he had captained the Mumbai Indians (MI) for a long time. Moreover, the Indian captain has led India to the T20 World Cup 2024, which speaks volumes of his work with the team.

The 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh will take place on September 27 in Kanpur. The Men in Blue have retained the same squad for the 2nd Test, however, it will be interesting to see if they make any changes in the playing 11 or not.

Meanwhile, former Australian legendary cricketer Ian Chappel has made some predictions ahead of the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. As per the former player, Rishabh Pant will play a huge role in the Indian set-up. His fearless approach will push Australia on its back foot, which will come in handy for the visitors. Plus, Pant has showcased his heroics in the previous series as well which proves his reliability.  

"If Pant can perform at his best, he's the ideal keeper for Australian conditions. If he's able to continue with his agile performance standing back, that is what is required in Australia. You need a keeper who capably covers a lot of territory to both sides of the wicket," said Ian Chappel.
