The 5-match ODI series between England and Australia ended with the visitors taking the trophy home. In the final ODI match, Australia beat England by 49 runs (DLS method). It was a thrilling encounter since both teams gave 100 percent of their efforts into the game. However, with the rain interruptions, the match favored Mitchell Marsh and his team.
The Player of the Match and Series went to Travis Head for his all-round performance. Head showed his heroic skills with the bat and did magic with the ball. In the last ODI game, he claimed four wickets and scored 31 runs during the chase.
His contributions to the series were immense, and credit goes to him for being absolutely fantastic throughout the series. Head opened with an all-round performance and by the conclusion of the game, he was thrilled to help Australia win the series against England.
"Joking about death bowling with (Josh) Hazlewood. I know he’s always complaining about bowling at the death. I didn’t come here expecting to bowl the 50th twice but nice to get the job done. We’re going to Galle in a couple of months, so I'm keeping my loads up," said Head, as quoted by Fox Sports.
Head rolled his arms in the first and the last ODI since skipper Marsh found his bowling quite helpful. From Head's performance, it looked like Marsh's captaincy instincts worked well as the bowler did his best with the ball.
I am moving well, doing things well, and enjoying this environment: Travis Head
Travis Head is one of the most dangerous batters in the world if we look at the current scenario. He enjoys his game and smashes the bowler whenever a delivery comes in his slot. He has the freedom to hit the balls without giving it a second thought which improved his batting performance tremendously. Speaking about his performance, Head mentioned that he liked playing and is looking forward to more games ahead.
"Would have liked to go (and play some better knocks) in a couple of games, but it was a good opportunity. Moving really well, would like to add one good score. Just relaxed. I am moving well, doing things well, and enjoying this environment. We need to make sure we get up and running," said Travis Head.
