South African cricket star Heinrich Klaasen smashed Rashid Khan for a huge six out that landed outside the ground during the MI Cape Town vs Durban game on Saturday.

MI Cape Town beat Durban Super Giants by seven wickets to move one step closer to playoff qualification. Heinrich Klaasen was the best batter for Durban with 66 runs from 43 balls with five boundaries and four monstrous sixes. One of those sixes was against Afghanistan’s ace spinner Rashid Khan.

One of the sixes hit by Klaasen disappeared out of the ground and hit the entrance ramp which leads into the ground. The shot from Heinrich Klaasen was hit with such power that the bowler instantly knew the outcome. South Africa’s veteran wicketkeeper and batter ensured his side reached 149 on the board from their 20 overs. 

Rashid Khan won the toss and put Durban into bat first and said a the toss, “We would like to bowl first. Fresh wicket, bowl first and see how it goes under lights. Less than 160-170. We still have to play our best cricket with whatever target is in front of us.”

Durban skipper Keshav Maharaj speaking during the toss said, “We were looking to bat first. Hopefully we can utilise the conditions and put up a good score today. Hopefully with the wind around it dries the pitch. You need a dry pitch for the spinners to come into the game.”

Ryan Rickelton’s blistering knock helps MI Cape Town win 

Put to bat first, Durban were reduced to 22/4 in the seventh over thanks to MI Cape Town bowlers. Brandon King was the first to be dismissed as he was out for four caught by Reeza Hendricks off George Linde. Quinton De Kock was the next man back in the hut falling to Trent Boult for five runs. 

Rashid Khan then got the wickets of Matthew Breetzke and Marcus Stoinis off successive balls to assert early dominance against the visitors. Kane Williamson (56*) then added 121 runs for the fifth wicket with Klaasen to help Durban reach 149 runs. Williamson’s knock came off 44 balls and it included five boundaries and two sixes. 

Chasing 150 to win, MICT got off to a good start as Rassie Van Der Dussen and Ryan Rickelton added 75 for the first wicket. The stand came to an end in the first ball of the ninth over when Keshav Maharaj bowled Van der Dussen for 24. Junior Dala got the key wicket of Rickelton for 63 from 41 balls before Noor Ahmad dismissed Sediqullah Atal for eight runs. 

Dewald Brevis and George Linde then smashed Durban bowlers to all parts of the ground. Brevis scored 26 not out from 16 balls with four boundaries and a six. George Linde smashed 8-ball 29 with four massive sixes and one four. With this win MICT are second in the table while Durban are rooted bottom of the table.
