Former Mumbai Indians skipper and batting stalwart Rohit Sharma has gained his form back in sensational style, smashing two successive half-centuries in the last two games. Rohit Sharma’s knocks of unbeaten 76 runs and 70 runs against CSK and SRH helped MI win both games with sheer dominance.
Meanwhile, the former India batter and now the commentator, Aakash Chopra, has come up with big praise for Rohit ahead of MI’s next big clash against the Lucknow Super Giants in their ongoing IPL 2025 campaign. Notably, MI will aim to register their fifth consecutive win in the tournament with a success against LSG in the upcoming home game
“He is back in good form” – Aakash Chopra on Rohit Sharma
While speaking about MI and Rohit Sharma, Aakash Chopra credited the former skipper for MI’s dominant win against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last game, as he scored 70 runs off just 46 balls.
“Mumbai have a good team. The way they destroyed Hyderabad in the last match was a one-sided match. They hit a lot, and Rohit Sharma was responsible for that. He has scored two successive half-centuries after nine years. So he is back in good form,” said Aakash Chopra in a video on his YouTube channel.
“We have now seen Suryakumar Yadav's proper Surya avatar, the bhau one, where he has played all kinds of shots. He is looking brilliant. Ryan Rickelton has also played a few good knocks. Batting is not a concern,” he added later.
Furthermore, Aakash Chopra also felt that the five-time champions have a slightly weaker spin attack, and Vignesh Puthur could be one of the top concerns in this department.
“They dismissed four batters in the powerplay in the last match. So, bowling is also not a concern whatsoever. They are the better team. The spin bowling looks slightly weak. Vignesh Puthur might not do that well here. If Karn Sharma is available, he might be seen playing,” he said.
