Sanju Samson slams two back-to-back centuries in T20Is, making a strong statement as an opener. The management's decision to promote him up the order in the previous series against Bangladesh has turned out to be fruitful, as Samson is proving his worth as a batter. After a series of failed performances, Samson has finally smashed centuries. In the 1st T20I against South Africa, Samson scored 107 runs off 50 balls, hitting seven boundaries and 10 sixes.
Former India player Aakash Chopra praised him for his magnificent performance and said, "Everyone asks for justice for Sanju, and he is doing injustice to the bowlers." Samson had faced a lot of criticism for failed performances when given opportunities. His fans had defended him for a long time but he repaid all the support received in his career with the century against South Africa in their own backyard.
"He destroys but there is no sound. He doesn't do the blacksmith's job. He hits eight to 10 sixes but with such timing, that you keep praising while watching him," added Chopra in a video on his YouTube channel. The cricket fraternity is ecstatic with Samson's performance and are positive that more such knocks are coming ahead.

India win the 1st T20I against South Africa by 61 runs
Suryakumar Yadav is having a good time out on the field with the Indian team, as he has a high chance of maintaining his winning streaks in T20Is. After a successful Sri Lanka and Bangladesh series, India dominated the South African side in their own home ground. In the 1st T20I, India beat the hosts with a huge margin of 61 runs, taking a lead in the series.
Apart from Samson, Tilak Varma also played an amazing knock of 33 runs in 18 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes. However, the real credit goes to the bowlers for dismissing the Proteas under 150 runs. The collective effort from Ravi Bishnoi and Varun Charavarthy was special as they claimed three wickets each.
