The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka series. The squad is filled with surprise elements that weren't expected from them. This has created an outrage among the fans and the critics, and many former players have questioned the selection panel over this.

Former India batter Aakash Chopra has also questioned the absence of Kuldeep Yadav from the T20I squad even after playing in the T20 World Cup 2024. His performance in the tournament was good, and there was no reason for removing him from the squad. The selectors have gone with players like Riyan Parag and Harshit Rana, who didn't contribute to the series against Zimbabwe.

"Kuldeep Yadav's name is not there in T20 cricket. It's very surprising because the guy has come just now after winning the World Cup but his name is not there in T20 cricket. Has something happened that we don't know about? He is going with the ODI setup. I have got no idea why he isn't playing T20Is," said Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel.

There is one more player who came in between BCCI's politics, Ruturaj Gaikwad. His contributions in the Zimbabwe series were immense, and he had already captained the Indian team in the Asian Games 2023. Even after all this, the selectors dropped him from the T20I squad while he was in the 7th position in the ICC's T20I rankings. Former India star batter S Badrinath talked about this in a video and questioned the Board.

"Sometimes it seems like you need a bad guy image when the likes of Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad and others are not selected for the Indian team. It seems that you need to be in a relationship with some Bollywood actresses, have a good media manager, and have body tattoos," said Baridnath via video on his social media account.
