Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh was recently a guest on the show Sports Yaari. During the show, 'Bhajji' as he is fondly called, revealed that he saw the angriest side of former legendary India captain MS Dhoni. The incident in question happened after the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) match at the Chinnaswamy stadium. 

Post the game Chennai were waiting for Bengaluru players to shake hands as per custom. There was a delay which caused lots of controversy with speculations running high. This incident saw MS Dhoni not waiting to greet any of the RCB players at the end of the game. 

Harbhajan Singh was commentating during when he saw his former teammate and skipper being visibly irate. India’s former spinner said to Sports Yaari “RCB was celebrating and they deserved to celebrate because of the way they won. I was watching the whole scene from above because I was present there. RCB was celebrating and CSK had lined up to shake hands, RCB were a little late to reach CSK”

Former Indian and IPL legend Harbhajan Singh during his appearance on the Sports Yaari show also added “By the time Team RCB finished their celebration, Dhoni went inside and he punched a screen outside the dressing room. I was watching from above but it is okay that every player has his own emotions, it happens,"  

Social media was divided after the incident took place as many Chennai fans felt that Dhoni was insulted. Many RCB fans on the other hand had called out MSD over this move. One fan had put out a video from IPL 2023 final where Dhoni could be seen asking his players to shake hands with GT players first before celebrating. 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) not only won the game but also qualified for the IPL 2024 playoffs. Yash Dayal was smashed for a huge six by Dhoni only to be dismissed in the next ball. The left-arm pacer then denied Ravindra Jadeja from scoring the 9 runs needed to knock Bengaluru out of the 4th spot in the table. 

For the record, Bengaluru batted first in the must win game and scored 218 runs. Faf Du Plessis top scored with 54 while Kohli scored 47. The home team had to restrict Chennai below 200 to make it to the playoffs. CSK scored 191 from their 20 overs as Rachin Ravindra top scored with 61. MS Dhoni scored 25 off 13 balls but the then defending champs couldn’t get over the line.
