Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by a big margin of 58 runs in the 23rd game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The game was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, April 9. The visiting skipper, Sanju Samson, won the toss and asked GT to bat first. Batting fir
st, GT posted a big total of 217 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Star opener Sai Sudharsan played a quick, fiery knock of 82 runs off just 53 balls, with eight fours and three sixes. Following him, Jos Buttler and M Shahrukh Khan also scored 36 runs each. Later in the lower order, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan also contributed with 24 and 12 runs off just 12 and 4 balls, respectively.
Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana scalped 2 wickets each for RR in the first innings, alongside a wicket each bagged by Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma. While chasing the target, the RR batting lineup failed to survive against the star-studded bowling attack of GT. Shimron Hetmyer and skipper Sanju Samson scored 52 and 41 runs, but their efforts went in vain as RR eventually lost the game, getting bundled out at the score of 159 runs in 19.2 overs. Prasidh Krishna scalped 3 wickets at just 24 runs in his four overs, alongside 2 wickets picked by Rashid Khan.
Besides these two, Mohammed Siraj, Arshad Khan, Kulwant Khejroliya, and Sai Kishore also claimed a wicket each for GT in the second innings.
