Rajasthan Royals skipper and star opener Sanju Samson played a crucial knock of 38 runs off 26 balls, with six fours against PBKS in the ongoing 18th match of the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). Besides his important knock, Samson also stitched a brilliant opening partnership of 89 runs in 10.5 overs with young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Meanwhile, what attracted the eyeballs was the ‘frustrated’ reaction of Sanju Samson after getting dismissed by Ferguson, getting caught by his PBKS counterpart Shreyas Iyer. Samson happened to throw his bat in anger, repeating the same what MI skipper Hardik Pandya did yesterday after losing the game against LSG.

Speaking of the current action of the game, the PBKS are bowling first after winning the toss; batting first, the visitors have scored 173 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 17.3 overs, having Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer are there in the middle at the individual scores of 32 and 12 runs, respectively.

Earlier in the innings, the young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 67 runs off just 45 balls, with three fours and three sixes, alongside Samson’s 38 runs off 26 balls, followed by Nitish Rana’s 12 runs of 7 balls, with two fours.

Lockie Ferguson scalped 2 wickets at 37 runs in his four-over spell, alongside a wicket scalped by Marco Jansen for PBKS in the first innings so far.  RR are currently struggling in the ninth spot on the tournament’s points table, with only one win and two defeats in their three games so far.

They are coming off a narrow 6-run win against CSK in their previous game following their two successive defeats against SRH and KKR in the first two games.
