RR batter Yashasvi Jaiswal who was fielding in the square leg region dove and took a stunning catch. Tushar Deshpande also deserves credit for following the batter and bowling a terrific ball to get rid of Rashid Khan who had already hit a six and a four earlier in the over.

At the end of their 20 overs, Gujarat Titans had posted a mammoth 217 runs on the board for the loss of six wickets. Rahul Tewatia gave the innings the much needed impetus it needed with an unbeaten 24 off 12 balls. The final over of the innings bowled by Sandeep Sharma yielded 16 runs to give the hosts a great finish.

Sai Sudharsan steals the show with the bat once again

Gujarat Titans were put into bat by Sanju Samson and the move seemed to have paid off after Jofra Archer dismissed Shubman Gill for two runs. Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler who had batted well against Bengaluru added 80 for the second wicket before Buttler was out for 36.

Sai Sudharsan was the star of the show with the bat as he scored 82 runs from 53 balls with eight fours and three sixes. The left-handed batter was looking set for a century but was dismissed by Tushar Deshpande caught by skipper Sanju Samson in the second ball of the 19th over. Shahrukh Khan and Sudharsan added 62 runs for the third wicket in 34 balls before Shahrukh was out for 20-ball 36.

Speaking to the broadcasters, at the mid-innings break, Sai Sudharsan said “The ball was stopping a bit but I felt the wicket was very good to bat on. He started well but we consolidated well and made a few runs in the middle overs. We though the wicket was good and had to push for a good score. Not a lot of dew, so bowlers should have a good day”
