The Lanka Premier League 2024 season has been at its best with high-scoring games taking place in the first three games. So far Colombo Strikers and Galle Marvels have started with a win. The two teams will now meet in the 5th game of the season to be played in Pallekele.
Galle Marvels (GM) began the season with an easy win over Jaffna Kings. Alex Hales and Niroshan Dickwella were the best batters for Galle, while Isuru Udana, Zahoor Khan, and Dwaine Pretorius did the damage with the ball.
Colombo Strikers (CS) didn’t break any sweat as they easily beat defending champs Kandy Falcons in their opening game. 4 wickets each by Dunith Wellage and Shadab Khan meant that the Colombo-based won the game by a huge margin of 51 runs to go top of the table.

This is going to be the final leg of matches to be played in Pallekele before the tournament moves to Dambulla. So far it has been a batting-friendly track where there have been plenty of runs. Since this is an evening game, the team chasing will hold the aces as the ball does come onto the bat well. A total of around 170 should be easy to chase down but anything over 185 makes the bowling team the favourites.
