Gautam Gambhir lauds Abhishek Sharma after his century in Mumbai

Indian coach Gautam Gambhir lavished praise on young India batting sensation Abhishek Sharma after the game on Sunday. Speaking on Star Sports, Gambhir said, “I haven't seen a better T20 hundred against bowlers who are bowling at 140-150 kph consistently. They have played a lot of cricket against each other.”

Gambhir also went on to say, “When results start going your way, everything goes well. Our players know what it means to represent 140-150 crore Indians. For me, having Bishnoi and Varun bowling in tandem was really important. We want to try as hard as possible with the bat.”

During the post-match ceremony, Abhishek said, “It's a special one. Coming for the country, it's always a great feeling. I've told this before as well. When I see it's my day, I always try to go from the first ball. The way the coach and captain have treated me from the first day, they always wanted this intent and always backed me. When the opponents are bowling 140-150 plus, you have to be ready a second before anyone else. Just wanted to react to the ball and play my shots.”
