In what seems to be a relieving piece of news for cricket fans, the Delhi Capitals franchise has announced the refund of tickets for their cancelled game against the Gujarat Titans. The game was scheduled to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, May 11, at 7:30 PM (IST). The decision from the franchise comes in the aftermath of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspending the IPL 2025 for one week.
Notably, the BCCI took the tough call to suspend the IPL 2025 amidst the rising cross-border rifts between India and Pakistan. The 58th game of the tournament between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala on Friday, May 8, was called off due to the same security reasons in the cities near the hill town.
Returning to DC’s decision to refund the tickets for their game against DC, the franchise revealed this to fans on their official X handle (formerly Twitter).
“Match cancelled, Tickets will be refunded. Further details to follow,” read the official X post shared by Delhi Capitals.

DC’s playoff hopes in jeopardy amidst dismal run
DC’s performance in the IPL 2025 so far is fifth in the table. Their chances of playoff qualification faced a big blow after the game against PBKS was called off in Dharamsala. Axar Patel’s men have won six games while losing four, and they have had one no-result game in their 11 games so far.
They had a brilliant start to their IPL 2025 campaign, with four consecutive wins in the first four games, acquiring the top spot for a couple of games. But they have been through a dismal run of form in their last five games in the tournament, with only one win, two defeats and two no-result games.
Now, it seems to be very hard for the Capitals to secure a spot in the playoffs of the IPL 2025, as it would not be an easy task to gain momentum when the tournament resumes after a break.
