"Unbelievable 10 years of my life !!! Thank you for all the memories. Always thought I will finish back in yellow for the fairytale finish," Faf replied to CSK's social media post. In his post, Faf confirmed that he would not take part in the IPL 2026 and opted his name out of the auction.

Du Plessis claimed that India has a special place in his heart and added that the IPL has been a massive part of his journey. He hinted at a potential IPL return and confirmed that it wouldn't be his last association with the league. Faf added that he would take part in the PSL in 2026 and saw it as a fresh challenge.

"After 14 seasons in the IPL, I’ve decided not to put my name into the auction this year. This league has been a massive part of my journey… India has a special place in my heart, and this certainly isn’t a goodbye — you’ll see me again," Faf wrote on social media.
