India continued their winning streak in the 2024 T20 World Cup with a 24-run win over Australia in their third Super 8 match in Saint Vincent. The Men in Blue finished as table toppers in the group stage points table and in the Super 8 stage as well and are destined to face England in the 2nd semi-final game of the tournament.

The 2nd semi-final game will be played on June 27 in Guyana where the Men in Blue will look to avenge their embarrassing 10-wicket loss to England in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final. However, according to some weather reports, there are high chance of the match getting affected by the rain.

However, if the match happens, the winner of the contest will face South Africa in the final who defeated Afghanistan in the semi-final 1 game by 9 wickets. The game finished pretty quickly as they bundled out Afghanistan on just 56 runs in the first innings and chased the target with 67 balls to spare.

What will happen if the rain plays spoilsport?

The reserve days were only in place for the first semi-final and the final. That means, if the second semi-final is abandoned due to rain, then there won’t be a reserve day since there is only one day between the second semi-final and the final.

All of India’s matches are scheduled in the morning so that the Indian audience will be able to watch the match live in the evening. The semi-final 2 will also take place at the same time so that the Indian fans get to watch the match easily.

If the weather plays spoilsport during the second semi-final, the team that finished first during the Super Eight stage will progress to the final. Therefore, India will be the second finalist as they were the table topper of their respective group during the Super 8 stage while England were placed second.
