After losing the Adelaide Test by 82 runs, England failed to reclaim the Ashes in the 2025/26 tour. The visiting side sustained an unassailable trial of 0-3, which means they will not be able to reclaim the Ashes. Despite two matches remaining in the series in Melbourne and Sydney respectively, England stand no chance in the series whatsoever.

The series started in Perth, which ended in just two days. Australia won it by 8 wickets to lead the series 1-0 despite the absence of Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. The story wasn't much different in the second Test in Brisbane, which Australia won to claim a lead of 2-0.

In the third Test in Adelaide, England put up a fight, which was not enough to win the Test. Australia won by 82 runs to claim an unassailable lead of 3-0. The 2023 WTC Final winners are now unbeaten in Ashes for over a decade and are yet to concede a win at home since 2010/11.

England's poor record in away Ashes after 2010/11 tour

After winning the 2010/11 tour, England has not been able to win even a single Test match in Australia. In the 2013/14 tour, England lost all five matches and suffered an embarrassing 0-5 loss. The following couple of tours were not too different, as England did not claim a single win.

However, Australia failed to beat England 5-0 on both instances. In both of the 2017/18 and 2021/22 tours, England lost four matches and drew one of their matches. In the ongoing 2025/26 tour, England has lost all of its first three matches. In the last 15 years, England has 2 draws and 16 losses in 18 away Tests against Australia.
