India made three changes to their Playing XI against England in the Old Trafford Test, Manchester, from July 23 to 27, 2025. Anshul Kamboj made highlights for making his Test debut, as Akash Deep was rested due to an injury. Likewise, Sai Sudharsan and Shardul Thakur were back in the side for Karun Nair and Nitish Kumar Reddy, respectively.

Kamboj got a chance to represent India for the first time, as Akash Deep was injured in the Lord's Test. The emerging pacer was called from India right after the third Test and even got a chance to represent the national side at the highest level soon. Deep is rested for the Manchester Test and could be back in the side for the fifth Test.

Karun Nair, who failed to score a fifty in four innings in the Edgbaston and Lord's Tests, respectively, had to make way for Sai Sudharsan, who made his debut in the first Test in Headingley. Likewise, Shardul Thakur was back in the side following an injury to Nitish Kumar Reddy.

On the other hand, England made only one change to their side, as Liam Dawson replaced Shoaib Bashir. The latter suffered an injury in the Lord's Test and hardly bowled in the second innings. Dwason returned to the Test side for the first time after 102 matches.
