Eden Gardens gears up for a musical extravaganza with Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, and Karan Aujla for IPL 2025 opening ceremony

Ahead of the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, some exciting news has come to light. The tournament will start on 22nd March, and prior to that, like always, an opening ceremony will be held. As per reports, Karan Aujla, Disha Patani, and Shreya Ghoshal might be performing at the opening ceremony at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. While the IPL committee hasn't given any official confirmation on this news, there are reports regarding the same. 

Last season, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and singers namely, Sonu Nigam and AR Rahman lighted up the opening ceremony ahead of the season. The IPL 2024 was won by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). That is why the first game of this season is between KKR and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 22 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.  

The league will feature more than 200 players this year, which is an achievement in itself. There are ten teams who will lock horns against each other to win that one ultimate title. Till now, MI and CSK are the two teams who have won the trophy five times.

"No doubt about the fact that Jasprit is the best bowler in the world, all the formats. He's gotten me out a few times in the IPL, I've had success against him in the IPL. So whenever I say things, like, 'Okay, it's going to be fun'. Because we don't get to do that in the nets. Even in the nets, it's like playing a match. The intensity is like we play a match in the IPL," said Virat Kohli.
